Get a COVID Test NOW If you Experience the Following

Coronavirus has affected over 10 million across the entire world. Over 500,000 have died and nearly 6 million have recovered. This virus comes from a family of viruses that all cause illnesses (such as Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-CoV) and Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV). There are many reasons why you may suspect you need a COVID test.

You might ask yourself, “is there a COVID testing site near me?” Fortunately, in the United States, every state offers testing. Some states have fewer tests than others due to a shortage in testing supplies.

How Can You Catch Coronavirus?

If you were to come into close contact with someone with coronavirus, there is a good chance you will get sick too. Coronavirus spreads through droplets that are spread from the mouth and nose. Droplets can be spread when someone talks, coughs, or sneezes. Additionally, coronavirus can survive on surfaces. If you contract coronavirus, you will start displaying symptoms 2-14 days after exposure.

Symptoms That Indicate You Need a COVID Test

The symptoms of coronavirus vary. Some of these symptoms can present mildly, while others are far more severe. If you start showing any of these symptoms 2-14 days after coming into contact with others or potentially unhygienic surfaces, you will want to get a COVID test.

  • Fever
  • Chills
  • Coughing
  • Shortness of breath
  • Difficulties breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Body Aches
  • Headaches
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion
  • Runny nose

There are also some symptoms of coronavirus that are considered to be more unusual. Coronavirus can cause a new loss of smell or taste (without nasal congestion) COVID can also cause mild gastrointestinal symptoms like a loss of appetite, vomiting, nausea, and diarrhea. If you have coronavirus, you might experience eye problems like sensitivity to light, swollen eyelids, or enlargement. Elderly individuals could experience confusion after contracting coronavirus, while younger people can develop painful, itchy lesions on their hands and feet.

How to Avoid Coronavirus

There are a number of ways you can protect yourself from coronavirus. The most suggested tip is to wash your hands multiple times throughout the day. When you wash your hands, make sure that you use soap and scrub your hands together for 20 seconds. If you have no soap or water available, use hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.

Social distancing is another great way to avoid COVID-19. When you social distance, you keep yourself at least six feet away from others or avoid social situations completely. When you leave your home or have someone over, make sure you are wearing a mask. A mask does not only protect you from coronavirus, but will protect others from you if you happen to have COVID-19.

COVID Testing Near Me

Coronavirus testing involves a thin swab being placed up your nasal passage to the place where it meets your throat. The swab will rest here to absorb secretions. This test is mildly uncomfortable, but will not prevent you from breathing or talking.
